Fay Buurman is a Dutch         Multidisciplinary Designer
 currently studying Graphic Design at ArtEZ Arnhem.

    With an interest in textiles, craft, and the             intersection of      
  analog and digital processes.

Rooted in an admiration
for hands-on practices,
Fay’s work explores the unpredictable beauty of materiality,light, and sound, often integrating performative and experimental elements.


Fay’s projects question what is human, mundane,
or divine in the creative process.
Collaboration plays a central role, engaging
with other creatives and materials as equal partners.

                 In collaboration with Isis van Bolderen 




        A current research project on human hair as a material
       within craft and fibre arts. This project intertwines research
       into the structural, cultural, ecological and material properties
       of human hair. 

      Therefore it aims to challenge preconceived notions
       of hair and instead admire the dissection of its many perspectives. 
      Crafts such as weaving and knitting are at the forefront 
      of this project as wel as traditional hair jewlery braiding. 
      Aided by historical reseacrh collaboration and a lot of curiosity.
